For more than fifty years
has PERRY DAVIS" PAIN
KILLER stood the test
against all remedies prepared
to eradicate pain, and today
stands at the head of tho list
Among the medicines that are
eo essential to keep at hand in
the home.
It is not a now fanlo remedy
nor do tho proprietors lay
claim to any wonderful revela
tion of the ingredients that en
ter into the manufacture of
this ever popular romedy.
It is p xfectly harmless, you
need have no fear of becoming
habitually inclined to its use.
For Colic, Cramps, Dysen
tery, Colds, and all painful
affections, a few doses will cer
tainly give rolief. You cannot
afford to bo without a bottle
in tho house.
Your forefathers used it
and found it beneficial.
Why experiment with some
remedy that is now and its effect
on tho system unknown?
It has many rivals but no
equal. '

Planta-
From Flrit eJitlon TrlJay )
F. J. Cross and G. H. Fuller,
recent arrivals in Honolulu, will
leavo next Tuesday for a tour of
tho plantations of Hawaii. Tho
object of this trip is to mako a
thorough investigation of tho use
of olectrical apparatus in eucnr
plantation work.
F. J. Gross is ono of tho most
noted electricians of tho day bar
ring Tesla and Edison. Ho was
recently with .tho Buffalo (N. Y.)
Engine Works as manager and
did tho first electrical business at
Niagara Falls. Mr. Cross ste.rtod
into tho business in 1881 and has
boon prominent among oloctri
cians over since. He graduated
from Coopors' Institute, New
York, and latter took a courso in
olectrotochnics at Cornoll.
Aftor graduation ho forged
ahead rapidly in tbo olectrical
world, and now holds sovon pa
tent rights on olectrical apparatus.
There aro now four manufactur
ing establishments in tho United
States building olectrical machi
nery exclusively from designs
originated by Mr. Cross. Elootri
cal magazines havo published
many articles from his pon and
speak very highly of his standing
in tbo fratormty.
Mr. Cross will look over tho
plantations from tho technical
standpoint of tbo experienced
electrician, socking to discover
wboro oloctrical apparatus can be
used in the various mills or in tho
Gold to lesson tho cost of produc
tion. Ho will also figure out the
possibilities for electrio powor in
tbo waterfalls of the island. Al
though Me. Gross'' investigations
aro not mndo without an oyato
future business, tho conclusions
which ho draws aftor a caroful
survoy of tho situation will bo ot
