Tho diroctors of tho Freo Kind
orgartou Association hold a very
spirited meeting this morning,
which withal dispttched business
promptly. Each school was ploas
antly reported and every ono had
tho samo roport of smaller attend
anco than usual on account of
measles or whooping cough. All
tho schools had a littlo Thanks
giving treat among tuomsoives to
which somo of the mothers woro
invited. Tho food was supplied
by tho parents or occasionally by
other sobools. Mrs. Dodge's pri
vate school camo in a body with
flowers and goodies to tho Japan
ese school, who shared thoir festi
val with tho Hawaiian school.
Tho Hawaiian children havo
been groatly helped to a regular
attendance by a light lunch givon
thom daily nt 11 o'clock, supplied
by tho contributions of two or
three publio spirited ladies. This
seemed necessary because tho Ha
wniians aro so very irrogular in
thoir meals and many of tho chil
dren came without breakfust.
Tho sanitary work in theso
schools is now under supervision
of Miss Rico, ono of tho nurses
from tho Sanitarium on King
street, aided by Dr. Garvin.
