'Constitution, notice Is hereby given
that a special election for a Senator to
fill the unexpired1 term ending the last
Wednesday In September, 1809, caused
by the resignation of H. W. Schmidt,
Senator from the Third Senatorial Dis
trict, will be held In said Third Sena
torial District, Island of Oahu, be
tween the hours of 8 a. m. and 5 p. m.
on Friday, the 24th day of February,
-1899. The nominations for candidates
miust be deposited with the Minister
aof the Interior not less than ten davs
before the day of election. The voting

left tho employ of this company
about two years ago and went into
business for himself, leaving an
excellent record behind. Mr.
Chamberlain will be greatly
missed not only by his busineds
associates but also by his frionds
in the Henlani Boat club, in
which h" was one of tho most
active members.
