Duplicate Treasury Warrants will be
Issued by the Auditing Department for
originals lost or destroyed, only after the
following regulations have been complied
with, viz :
i st: Notice of the loss must be sent as
won as possible to the Treasury. Depart
ment, and Audit Office, requesting that
payment be stopped, iglvlng the number of
the Warrant, amount, name of "payee,"
and the Appropriation against which It
and: Notice of the loss must be ads-er-Used
In some newspaper published In Ho
nolulu or Hilo, giving particulars as-nbove.
3rd: If the Warrant was Issued In pay
ment of a Specific Salary the Official re
ceiving the same, or for whom the same
was Intended, must make a statement In
writing addressed to the Auditor-General,
gl ing the particulars of loss, and request
fngthat a duplicate be drawn therefor;
euch statement to be accompanied by 2
cople? of the advertisement.

Beef and Mutton.

Sealed proposals, in triplicate, will be re
ceived at the office until 11 o'clock a. m.,
March 31st, 1899, and then opened, for
furnishing the fresli beef and mutton In
bulk, 15,000 pound, more or less, required
at this station by the Subsistence Depart
ment, U. S. Army, during the period com
mencing April 1st, 1809, and ending April
30th, 1809. Fresh beef shall be good In
quality and condition fit for Immediate use,
and from fore and hind quartermeats propor
tionately, Including all the best cuts there
of. Fresh Mutton shall be of good and
marketable quality, from wethers over one
and under three years old. Beef and mut
ton to be dressed, and delivered as describ
ed in circular Instructions. Proposals will
also be received stating price at which bid
der will deliver fresh beef or mutton, of
character above stated, and to be delivered
of temperature not greater than 50 degrees
hFahrenhelt. Government reserves right
to reject In whole or In part any or all bids.
