well-known standard that is
everybody was there and happy
of course, for wbouovor was La

Tho Major Domo, Mr. Honnick,
outdid himself in perfecting the
arrangements, and bis assistants
were not far behind him. Ilia

OAKLAND ItKALTY ANHKHSKD.
Oakland, March 25. Tho Real
ty Syndicato has orcated some
surprise by assessing its Block
20 a sbnre, which is fully paid
up to tho extent of its issue. The
syndicato held a meoting today
and decided on tho assessment.
Although capitalized for $5,000,
000 only 17,000 shares at S100
apieco bavo boon issued. Tbo
assessment will produce $340,000.
The directors deolaro that tho
S340,000i8 to bo used for paying
off floating indobtednoBs and to
otherwise improve the financial
standing of the big corporation.
This assoEsmenl will not affect
tbo holders of certificates of in
vestment, which havo been issued
lo small investors to tbo extent of
about $1,000,000, but will have
tbo effect of improving the securi
ty. Tbo holders of investment
certificates live all ovor tbo world,
as they bave been sold in tho Ha
waiian islands and the East for
the purpose of bringing .money
here to invest in Oakland.
Tbo syndicato is anxious to es
tablish its proposed ferry from
Emoryville to San Franoisco, but
at today's meeting it was stated
that there is nothing new in the
proposition, although all tbo
schemes of tbo corporation aro
being gradually developed.
