THE EVENING BULLETIN: HONOLULU, H. L, APKIL 29, 1899.
Editou Evening Bulletin:
I noticed iu tho Stnr Inst night a
big bending "Select. Schools Must
Go." It wns nearly startling to
mo at first, but when upon rend
ing tho articlo found it to bo an
Irish bull, or something else, not
only harmless but perfectly, I
may By, delightful, for it was, in
ronlity, a recommendation by the
competent board of education,
that four bit schools must go, and
solect schools must stay.
I would add Mr. Editor, thnt I
do not wish to read or hear about
schools in Honolulu being less se
lect or efficient on account of the
four bits, for if such shall bo tho
case our school (acuities will bo
to blamo. And if thero bo nny
one nuooug us who think our cdu
cational corps is not equal to thoso
of Eastern cities, they should not
merely assist, but should show up
their ovidonco for so thinking,
and ondoavor to remedy the in
efficiency. A person who can
remedy mistakes is of much more
account to fho world thau tho ono
who can point them out only.
Tho directors, of Naliiku will
