lumber for this firm bo establish
ed for himself a name for sobriety
and ability tLat was very unusual
among sen captains. After AleigLe
& Gawloy failed Captain Reynolds
entered tho service of Ronton it
Holmes. In tho service of this
firm ho sailed along tho coast and
often oven to Honolulu and Aus
tralia. Ho remaiued iu the sorvic
of tbo Inttor firm until last fall,

Captain Reynolds wns a promi
nent member of tho Society of Pi-
oncers. Ho was also a prominent
Mason and wbb a member of Gold
