Notice to Mariners.
On and after July 1st 1890, a light will
be established at Diamond Head on the
South side of Oahu, Hawaiian Islands.
Lit. 21" 15' 8' N.
Long. 1 57" 4' 44' W.
Elevation of light above sea level 145 ft.
Visibility 15 miles.
Stone tower 40 feet high Whitewashed.
Base of tower above sea level 92 ft.
The lens is a dioptric lens of the 3rd or
der showing a fixed white light through
an arc of 1860 45' with a red sector on the
West side covering iili". The light is
shaded on the East side to a line which
passes one half mile outside of Koko Head.
From this line the bearing of the light Is
N. 870 20' W. true. From the outer mar
gin of red sector on West side the light
bears S. 8i 10' E. true.
From the Inner margin of red sector on
the line of channel lights, the light bears
S. 690 40' E. true. No light shows Inside
of this line. This line Is distant from the
bell buoy on a line due south (mag.) 3100
ft. On the line of channel lights the out
er margin of red sector Is distant from the
middle buoy at entrance to channel (
The light at Paukaa Hllo has been
changed to a green light.
