program was a bicycle race for
Maui's fast cyclists, but as there
wero only two entries, tho race
was declared off and tho 25.00
will bo reserved for the coming
meet next year.

Daylight started. Charles S. won
the first heat iii 2:45 2-5. and Dav-
light won tho 2nd and 3rd heats
in 2:401-5 and 2:422-5 respective

were four entries: Billy O, Light
ning, Darkness and Emin Bey.
Billy O and Emin Bey wero the
favorites, and a great deal of mo
ney changed bauds on this race.
Billy 0, woll known on tho Ka
piolani Track, came out victorious,
time 1.2G, with Emin Boy a close
second, and Darkness third. ,

Entries: Charles 8. Davlicht and
MoEinley, but the last named

was won by Daylight in 245.

horses. Bily O. Lightning and
Emin Bey entered this race. Billv

Emiu Bey a close second.

Race 9. Kihoi Purse, $100.
Trotting raoo, 1 milo heats best 2
in 3, 3:20 olasn, for Maui bred
horses. MoKinloy and Lightuing
were the only entries as Blaok
Eagle was withdrawn. MoKinley
camo out ahead, ho crossing under
tho wire when Lightning was
about reaohiug for the mile polo'.
Tho judges deolared "no racb"
olairaing that it wbb a walk ovor
for MoKinloy, and tho result was
protests galoro from all sides,
oven from thoso who wore not in
terested in tho outcome of the
raco. At a private mooting of the
judges held on tho following day,
tho judges roversed their decision
and gavo tho raco to MoKinley.
Raco 10. Kahului Purso, $75;
Running raco, milo dash, free
for all. .The horses enterod wore:
Saint David, Manu Kinn, Charlie
and Darkness. Lightning and
Emin Bey withdrawn. Tbo race
was won by Manu Kina in 26 1-5.

entries were Sweet William, Pij
holo, Oahu and Kiokapoo. Tho
favorite mules were Oahu and
Piiholo, but Kickapoo entered and
owned by Geo. Richardson of La
