Dr. C. II. Wood was nominated by
Minister Cooper for tho presidency.
Air. Smith seconded tho motion which
wns carried unanimously. Dr. Wood
then took the president's chair and
made a few lemnrks to tho effect that
he Intended to enrry on tho work of

manner as possible.
Or. Emerson stated that tho work of
tho committee appointed by tho Hoard
to draw up a list of suggestions deal
ing with tlio purification of tho city
wab progressing. Ho urged tho ap
pointment of somo competent person

structions of tho Hoard regarding the
sanitary condition of buildings under
const! uctlon were carried out.
Tho following resolution wns then
adopted :
"That tho erection and const! uctlon
of nny building whatsoever, on land In
any district declaied by tlio Hoard of
Health to bo Infected, Is hereby pro
hibited until further notice.
"That a copy of tho icsolutlon be
furnished to tho Minister of the In
terior for communication to tho super
intendent of Public Works."
Then followed tho adoption of tho
following resolution:
"All that portion of tlio city or Ho
nolulu bounded by N'tiuanu, Kukul,
River and Queen streets, Is officially
declared by the Hoard to bo an Infected
dlstiict."
