yesterday nfternoon the following
resolutions drawn up by n committee
at tlio pliynlclnna' meeting held In
Progress Hall Saturday night, were
adopted.

terests of the Hawaiian Islands; there

It was voted that the recommenda
tion from tho Planters' Association re
garding inter-Island trndo bo ndoptcd
subject to n proviso that In easo ut spe
cial necessity permission bo given fi
vessels to llo nt the wharf.
The Planters' Association recom
mended that nil intor-lslnnd steamers
bo compelled to remove to n distance uf
100 feet from wharves; tlint, us fur .is
possible, these steamers tnko freight
direct from foreign vessels; Hint ves
sels leave tho harbor at night and
anchor outside; that such items ns lion
work, machinery nnd tho like, bo al
lowed to go without fumigation.
A resolution was adopted that tho

that until proper accommodation can
bo provided for thosn people In the de

Board of Heilth, and, If not moed by the
consigner within 24 hours after the same-
is landed from the vessil, then the- Col
lector-General shall have the pawer to
remove such freight either to the Customs
Warehouse-, or to such othtr place as may
be designated by the consignee (either to
be at the option of the Collector-General);
the cost of such handling and cartlncto be
at the expense of the consignee of such
goods.
And the Collector-General of Customs
shall limit the time In which each vessel
can Heat anchorat a wharf to discharge,
ail,.lf the vessel Is not discharged within
such time, then the Collector-General
shall'have ths power to remove sikh es
sel from the wharf.
