tertained for tho safety of tho schooner
Muriel, tvhli U left Kobe thirty days
ago for Hakodate, but has not yet ar
rlvt.il at her dratlnatlon, so far as her
owncis are Informed. The .Muriel was
in ballast and was going to Hakodate,
to load B'llphur for Honolulu. Tho trip
would take ordinarily about ten days,
bill the Muriel has been out threo
times that long. There Is a probabil
ity that the schooner might have ar
rived, but no repoit haB been mado
here. The owners and agents arc wor
ried over tho matter, particularly as
Captain Lnrlscn has his wife nnd Jhreo
children whh him on tho voyage.

steamer was sent Into quarantine to
