At n meeting of the Board of Health
Saturday afternoon Dr. Wood read a
letter from Sheriff Andrews of Hawaii
under date ot January 28, In which he
tells of the case of n Portuguese, John
do.Stntho by name, suspected by Drs.
Mooro and Grace, of having tho plague.
Guards, wero put about tho place and

premises on Portuguese Lane. Sheriff
Andrews states that later tho physi
cians found tho man to bo suffering

concludes his letter with tho following:

handle theso matters."
