Minister Cooper reported that he had

condemned by the Hoard as unsani

that the building next to the Metropoli
tan Market belonged to Mr. Waller
whose special request was to the effect
that none of the rotten lumber of the
houses In the row bo allowed to be
carted away. As President Wood had
distinctly refused Mr. Hurgcss permis
sion to carry away anything from the
rotten row the Hoard passed the fol
lowing resolution:

ing been declared Insanitary by the
sanitary engineer of the Io.tI

Hesolved, That the said rnter

menace to public health and that
the owners bo required to remove
such material to a place designated
by the Hoard, theio to Iff destroy
ed by fire.
Judge I'erry, of the Citizen ' Sani
tary Committee sent In a list of the
premises nnd buildings considered In
sanitary by the Inspectors. It was vot
ed that these with the exception of
the Kewnlo district and ponds be re
referred to Sanitary l'nglnecr Cousins.
Tho Hoard spent some time In the
discussion of meat from Sydney, n
place now Infected with plague, hut
no conclusion was arrived at. The
matter will be referred to it special
committee.
Messrs. Peacock & Co. sent In a
sample of corrugated paper o . used
Instead of straw In the shipment of
liquor. Tho Hoard sanctioned Hi usn.
It was voted that tho merclianillsn cf
tho South street tenement house bo re
moved to tho Aala warehouse before

pied by about a dozen persons.

restaurant, nnd adjoining premises ma-
kal. Location of cesspool.
G. Closet on Pacific Mall wharf,

along tho waterfront to relievo lumber
yards nnd other premises from nui
sances.
