Its regular Thursday nigiucra wcro nt
tho Odtl fellows' celohratlon. Thoso
who waived tho dance In favor of tin
theater had no reason to regret their
choice, last night's program proving an
excellent 0110 throughout. Tho two act
farce presented by Hogan, of "Summer
Boarders" has enough plot to glvo rlso
to home mirthful situations and clever
dialogue, which are made tho most ot
by tho cast hcauctl by liogan In the
guise of a tramp. Several new songj
and their accompanying choruses were
Introduced with effect. The hula song
by George Taylor opening tho ball and
putting tho house in good humor for
the rest of uio evening. Of tho new
comers, much was expected and much
praise Is due. "iJaby Ruth" Roland In
stantaneously made an Individual hit
with every person In her audience. Tho
sorm of npplauso that recalled her to
encore after encoro wns louder than
any heard in tho Orpheum, at all events
since Hogan first struck town. Tho
young lady la exceptionally clover lu
every branch of her chosen profession
nnd should draw many shekels to tho
Orpheum coffers. Dodson, femalo Im
personator puts on a well costumed
act, Riiii;liiti In both soprano and bari
tone and presenting a well carried out
mimicry of the vaudeville lady artist
of today. Tho shadowgraphs, another
novel feature. Introduced by Stanley
furnished ten minutes' hearty amuse
ment. The silhouettes nre cleverly
conceived and well handled, tho move
ments of the various figures being most
natural. The shadowgraphs should bo
a big drawing card for tho matinee to
morrow, nnd the house will bo darken
ed for that purpose. The matinee s
week should bo better patronized than
usual with the shadowgraphs nnd wco
Ilahy Ruth as star attractions.
