stated that .the three proposed loca
tions of tho Metropolitan Meat Co. had
heen visited. Tho first location was
too nenr and tho second, higher up,
had been found most suitable and was
recommended for approval. It was
decided that tho President should here
after appoint a time for tho Board to
visit tho locality and select tho site.
Tho report on livery stables was read
nnd discussed nnd tho sanitary rules
presented wero ordered to apply to
livery stables In tho district of Hono
lulu. New Bonrtl Members,
Minister Coooper nominated Dr. C.
B. Cooper to bo medical member of tho
Board of Health In placo of Dr. Day,
and his election unanimously resulted.

member of tho Board to fill the ro

peddling question nnd read a letter
formerly written by tho Minister of tho
Interior to Mr. Sarrno accepting tho
Hllo market) nnd stating that tho ped
dling of fish on tho Btreots was to bo
referred to tho agent of the Board of
Health. He also read a cupping from
a Hllo newspaper upon the question
asking tho Board to tnko action.
Minister Cooper said the rules Bhould
be most carefully drawn, and tho mat
ter was referred to President Wood nB
Blsted by the Attorney General, to au
thorlzo nnd publish such regulations
as necessary and forward tho samo to
Hllo agents of tho Board.
Tho Executive Officer wns ordered to
prepare a report on Knllhl camp, nnd
an application to rent tho Battery
camp by n local firm wns laid on the
tnble. Adjourned to 7:30 p. m.

Mr. Clark reported on forest prop
erty nt tho Leper Settlement, which
had been discontinued by Superinten
dent Reynolds.
Shcilff Andrews reported that the
vessels refused to bring lepers to Ho
nolulu from Konn, and It was ordered
that Superintendent Reynolds take
steps to lemovo them.
Several bills were approved and
roiitlno letters read.
Tho resignation of Dr. French, Gov
ernment physician at Hnnalcl, Kauai,
was accepted nnd Dr. Schwnlllo was
appointed to tho place.
Dr. Blako was appointed physician
to the Puna dlsttlct nnd his resignation
from tho Ewn dlstiict ncceptcd. Dr.
Davis wns appointed Government phy
sician for tho Ewn district.
A claim of Wing Wo Chan & Co. for
goods destroyed on tho wharf was re
ferred to tho Court of Claims.
Tho report of the committee on soil
analysis was read and n resolution
passed, printed elsewhere, raising
qunrautluo In tho burned district.
