JV further supply of Ilaffkln's pro
phylactic having arrived, tho Health
Department is making arrangements to
commence Inoculation nt as early dato
as possible. It will bo remembered that
on the occasion of tho last public In
oculation tho arrangements wcro such
that tho department was unnblo to con
trol the number of people applying
cither as tcgards tho neighborhood
from which they came or ns regards
the numbers applying on any one day.
Tho consequence was a hopeless con
fusion, which not only seriously dis
turbed tho ordinary business of tho de
partment, but on ono occnslon at least
gnvo rlso to n situation which might
have resulted In grave personal Injury
to some- of tho panic stricken crowd.
To guard ngalnst n repltltlon of that
experience the president of tho Board

New York, May 14. There Is a
chance for several Important heavy
weight lights being arranged In tho
nenr future. Champion James J. Jct
frles Is not particularly anxious to pose
ns an actor just yet and Is more desir
ous to shine as an active exponent of
the manly art. Ho has announced
through his manager, William A.
Brady, that ho will take on Corbctt.
Sharkey, Fltzslmmons, McCoy, Huhlln
and Mnhcr, first como urst served. Jeff
says he will fight Corbctt again a week
from next Monday before any club nnd
will bet him $10,000 to J5.000 that ho
can duplicate tho trick ot last Friday.
Tho champion nlso dcclnrcs that If
Fltzslmmons defeats Huhlln ho will
make a match with tho Cornlshman
on tho same terms exacted by Fltz
when ho wns champion, 65 per cent
of tho purse to Jeffries, win or lose.
Fltz, on tho other hand, says hu Willi
fight Jeffries, tho winner to take all,
which Is certainly a businesslike prop
osition. There nro half a dozen different om-
blnatlons ot fights proposed with Ml
tho heavyweight's considered, out It
will be several days before anything
final can bo ngreed upon.
