Alden Hesse Bock Afinln.
The Alden Besse arrived In p rt bright
and early this morning, 24 days from San
Francisco. She brought 1 100 tons of gen
eral merchandise to W. G. Irwin & Co.
Very light winds were met with through
out the voyage, accounting for the slow
trip. Nothing was sighted. The Alden
Besse will begin discharging at the old
litis Chinese Ahourd.
The Ivy that came In from Newcastle
with a cargo of coal late yesterday Is an
American vessel but she has been eight
years In foreign waters. None of the ori
ginal crew are aboard and there I but one
American seamen. The remainder are
British with exception of three, who are
Chinese. A Custom House officer Is
aboard and close witch Is be ng kept 011
the vessel. The Chinese will not come
