The barkentlne W. H. Slmond will
sail for Hllo tomorrow to load sugar. She
has a cargo of about 400 tons of freight
from port and so her long stay here will
not have been a total loss.
The Mariposa passed the steamer Doric
and transport Lawton on April nth. Law
ton passed close enough to the Mariposa
for the passengers to call to one another.
The Doric wis passed four hour later, in
the same day. Nothing of the China or
Ventura was seen.
The little schooner Jessie Minor as
trim and neat as usual arrived yesterday
after a very speedy voyage of sixteen
days. S e bring 290m feet lumber and
some produce and provisions. The thanks
of the Bulletin are due Captain Whitney
for late Eureka paper;..

Tho news arrived Sunday from Ko
na, Hawaii, of the death of Dr. Tandy
Allen. He died at the home of Mrs.
Tlodanct and was found dead lu bed
when breakfaBt was called. An Inquest
was held at which a verdict of death
from heart disease was receUed.
Dr. Allen was t groat friend of tho
Hawaiian and had never refused the
call of suffering or sickness, from rich
or poor. Tho funeral of tho deceased
