The House took pity on tho salaries
yesterday afternoon nnd, instead of
continuing to massacre the odlco hold'
era and to mutilate the pay rolls be'

In the first place, tho permanent act

committee. Then, beginning with the
Secretary's olllce. tho House began the
change. Hoogs stnted that he had

In regard to the salary proposition and,

ces, he thought that those who re
mained should be well paid.
The House seemed to agree with
Hoogs and began work by comblntng
the positions of Electoral Registrar

From the above. It will be noticed
that the House Is following the lend

cal. Tho salaries of the clerk and stenog
