Installed Yesterday
Yesterdny afternoon the first lodge
of the Masters' and Pilots' Association
of America, ever Installed outside of
the boundaries of the United States
proper was Instituted here by Captains
Qllbart Droknw and Richard D. Seike.
The lodge Is known as Honolulu Har
bor, No. 54.
The installation took place in the
cabin of tho steamer W. O. Itall and
there were present all the captains
and pilots In port who had signed an
charter raemben.
The organization Is a secret and
benevolent one to which are eligible
none but American citizens who hold
American marine certificates as mas-
ters or pilots of steam and sail vessels.
The installation services yesterday
were very successful and, although on
account of absence from the city some
of the charter members wero unable to
attend, there were numbers sufficient
to make a fine showing.
Gilbert Droknw was elected Captain
and Captnln Sentries of tho J. A. Cum
mins, FlrBt Pilot. The names of the
other ofllcerS as selected will bo an
nounced later. '

While Professors Koebclc, Ashmend
and Perkins were In the mountains
back of Walahm last week searching
for tho festive bug, they ran across a
greet many specimens and brought
back a great collection. A lot of the
InscctH wero absolutely new to Prof.
Ashmcad but Profs. Kocbcle and Per
kins bad seen them all before. Not u
single new specimen was found.
Prof, Ashmcad leaves next week on
a trip to the Big Island on an extensive
collecting trip.
