McDonald and Wm. Forbes, sang,
"Lead, Kindly Light." and "Light Af
ter Darkness," After the services tho
many beautiful floral pieces were tak
en to II. H. Williams' undertaking
parlors and placed upon the casket
The remains will bo shipped to Peta
lumn, Cal., and will be placed aboard
the Alameda tomorrow,

TENT MEETINGS'
A tent to hold over three hundred

covering a period ot several weeks,
Work was begun yesterday on the cen
tral floor which was completed last
evening. The big tent, the gift of P.
C. Jones, will probably be raised over
the space .tomorrow morning nnd the
exterior will then bo arranged In a
manner which will provide for the
comfortable seating of all who enter.
The first meeting will be held on
Thursduy night at 7:30 o'clock. Thero
will be a special lot ot singers under
tho direction of P. W. Rider which will
give a Bong service outside the tent
to last fifteen minutes. Tho only two
meetings to bo held this week will be
on Thursday and Saturday evenings.

Gleaners Meet.
The Gleaners' Aid Society ot Central
Union church held Its regular monthly
meeting at the home ot Miss Julia
Damon yesterday. Thero were In the
neighborhood of fifty present. Mrs. C.
M. Hyde read a paper on "Houses of
Royalty" which she visited on her re
cent tour of Kuope. The members
talked over their annual lawn party,
preparations for which will soon be
gin. The exact date has not yet been
decided 011 hut It will be held some
time dining tho month of May.
