knficked out Tim llegtirty In the
eight lounil of their tight at the .Me-

proved that the much-lauded Austra
lian tntmot compete with the sturdy
jouths of this country. It was a case
of an old iiinn against n )ouug one.
nml as usual youth wns served. I leg-
arty pioveil that he was oneu n gieat

not stand the biutllng that III lit
gave him, and ho tould not hit Ilrltt
hard enough to affect him.
llegtirty tried hard to put Ilrltt out
111 the beginning of the fight, but slow
ly his stiength left him and ho soon
succumbed to Hritt's blows. For four
rounds Hegarty was outpointing
Ilrltt. and showed n great deal of
deverness. In the fifth round Ilrltt,
In bustling Hegarty about, rattled him
and took much of his stiength by In-
flitting body blows when the men
tamo to close quartets.
In the sixth It was plain to bo seen
that Hegarty's steam was gone, and
his chances of winning nlso. Tho end
came In a mix-up In the eighth. In
the coming out of a clinch nrter Ilrltt
landed a hard hlo'V on the body he

sent him reeling backward. Ilrltt fol
lowed up the dazed Australian and
put him completely out with a light
