Mauna Loa, Hawaii, were reeclved: Hawaii Puakea Ranch, atmot
phere haiy and smoky; Kohala Mill, imoke heavy 19 23 Inclusive;
Kohala Mission, atmosphere smoky since the 12th; Nlulll, much smoke
noticeable every day; Laupahoehoe and Hakalau, smoky thruout the
week; Hllo, atmosphere very smoky Olaa Mill, days smoky: Kapoho,
sky clouded from smoke; Naalehu, the atmosphere is full of smoke;
Kau (23) (Walohlnu) the lava streams running toward South Kona
continue active; Kealakekua (24) (Wallace) it It reported this morn
ing that there it no fire to be seen In the lava flow, but the crater it
still active; Kealakekua (Davis), very smoky; Puuwaawaa. smoky.
Maul Huelo, the entire Island has been enveloped In smoke thruout
the week; Klhel, smoky and Haiy latter part of week; Walluku, at
mosphere haiy, most likely due to volcanic smoke. Oahu Honolulu
(W. B.) atmosphere smoky at Intervals on the 22 26, Inclusive. Mauna
will Ranch, very smoky on 23rd and 24th.

GENERAL SUMMARY.
The rainfall during the week, as a rule, was light, but two stations
on Hawaii, two on Maul, and one on Molokal reporting amounts In
excess of 1.00 Inch. Two stations in the Kohala and one In the eastern
portion of the Puna districts of Hawaii report no rainfall. The great.
est amounts during the week were 3.12 Inches at Nahlku and 1.93
Incheo at Klhel, Maui; 1.31 and 1.07 Inches at Laupahoehoe and Ookala,
Hawaii, respectively, and 1.21 Inches at Molokal Ranch, Molokal,
The total rainfall was below the average for the week at all stations
having a record of ten or more years, excepting execsses of .19 and
1.04 Inch at tho U. S. Weather Bureau, Honolulu, and Walmanalo,
Oahu, respectively. The deficiencies ranged from .16 Inch to 1.11
Inches In the Kohala, .41 to .91 Inch In the Kau, Kona and Kama
