''Section 2300. No certificate of acknowledgment contrary

2:i00, 2:107, 21108, 2:i0ll and 2:170, shall bo valid iu any Court
of this Territory, nor shall it be entitled to be recorded in the
ItegiMry of Public Conveyances. Hut no certificate of acknowl
edgment executed before duly 2lltli, 1872, shall iu consequence
of anything iu said sections contained be deemed invalid."

and after the date of its approval.

Skctiox 1. Section 2737 of the ltevised Laws of Hawaii
is heicby amended so as to rend as follows:
"Section 2737. Inquest, Jury, r'ees. As soon as any coro
ntT shall have notice of the death of any person within his jur
isdiction, supposed to have come to such death by poisoning,
violence, or iu any suspicious manner, he shall forthwith issuo
hi? summons to six good and lawful men of tho district where
such death may have occurred, or iu which tho dead body may
have been found or is at tho time lying, to appear boforo him
at the time and place expres.cd iu the wurraut, and there to
inquiie upon the view of tho body of the deceased, when, bow,
and by what means be came to his death.
Iu all cases of sudden death tho coroner shall inquire into tho
caiiie, and iu bis discretion may cause an inquest to be held even
if he is not satisfied that there are suspicious circumstances at
tending the death,
Kneh person summoned to serve on a coroner's jury shall bo
paid two dollars per day or eauh day's actual attendauco; that
said fees of two. dollars shall be paid by the Counly in which
the jury was called; nnd if any person summoned to servo on
sueli jury shall fail to appear, without reaonable cxcue there
for, ho may bo fined by tho coroner suit exceeding ten dollars
or imprisoned not exceeding ten days.; and tho coroner may fcsfio
process to any police oflieer for tho collection of any fines thus
imposed." ' I i
