The fire was discovered by a Ha
unllati couple who live a short dis
tance from the NnwaaUoa place.

the chimney of thj Nawnnko.i house,
but they paid no attention lo this, ns
they thought that It enmc from the
kitchen stove. A little later, how
ever, thoy saw smoke Issuing from
tho roof. Thoy hastened to the houso
anil managed to enter It. They
found that tho fire had evidently
been burning In the Interior for some
little time, tho entire building being
gutted, though, quecrly enough, tho
flames did not attack the outsldo
walls until practically the entire In
terior had been demolished. At the
tlmo tho lire wis discovered It was
too Into lo rnivc the houso or nny of
tho furniture, and everything wus de
stroyed. The- premises vvero occupied by Nu-

vvaakoa being at present abroad.
