WA1LUKU, Maul, Sept!' 11. Tho
executive committee ot the Republi
can party of Maul County met ut Its
headquarters in Wailuku Wednesday
and discussed many minor mntters
and nlso Bcvornl primary election pro
tests from Halawn, Mololcal.
Tho executivo committee has rot
September 24th as the day for tho
Republican Convention to meet in
Wnlluku. Tho air is full" of rumors
regarding the various candidates,
who are seeking cither legislative or
County honors. The friends of Wm.
T. Robinson aro urging him to run
for Sheriff, while the Makawao and
Kula Districts have a possible candi
date In tho person of Deputy Sheriff
Edgar Morton of Makawao. It U
most probable, however, that the con
vention will select thu ptesent In
cumbent for the office.
The friends of Chas. day of Lanal
are urging him to run for Senator
from Lahalna, but It Is understood
that legislative honor has no place in
Mr. Gay's thoughts and that he would
rather bbo another selected for that
post. Senator S. E. Knlama will run
for Senator fiom tho Hann, Makawao,
and Wnlluku districts, but there nro
also others who aro aspiring for that
honor. S. E. Kaluo will make a fight
at tho convention for nomination aa
Wnlluku Supervisor, but two other
Republicans aro ulso mentioned for
the place. .
