The defloleneles, In Inches, In the several districts were Hawaii Kohala 0 31 to 0.63, Hamakua 0.27, Hllo 0.53 to 1-81, excepting 40.08 at Laupahoehoe; Puna 1.33, and Kau and Kona 0.75 to 0.79; Maul Hamakualoa 1.29, Walluku 0.46, and Lahalna 0.97; Oahu Koolaupoko 1.11, and Ewa, Walanaa and Honolulu 0.47 to 0.71; and Kaual-fKoolau 0.87, and Walniei 0G6. The greatest amounts of rainfall were reported from the northern portion' of the Hllo district of Hawaii and ranged from 2.05 to 2.45 Inches. There were four other stations reporting amounts from 1.12 to 1.45 Inches, and the remaining stations less than 1.00 Inch. No rain fall was reported from the Hamakdaloa, Hsmakuapoko, Kula, Walluku and Lahalna districts of Maul, and the Walanae and the lower levels of the, Honolulu districts of Oahu; and but a trace from the Waimea dis trict of Kauai. There was less rainfall than during the prectdlng.week at all stations on Maul, Oahu, Kauai, and Molokal, and In the Kohala, Hamakua, Puna and at all but one station In the HI!o districts of Hawaii. The greatest deficiencies, In Inches, were 4.09 In the Koolau, 2.38 In the Hamakualoa and 1.25 In the Hana districts of Maui; 1.37 In the Puna, 1.73 In the Hamakua and 1.90 to 2.65 In the Hllo districts of Hawaii, elsewhere the deficiencies were less than 1.00 Inch. The following earthquake shocks were reported all about 12:30 p. m. of the 4th: Hawaii Kohalt MIIIJ sharp; Kealaktkua (Wal lace) slight; Ookala; Kohala Mlsslcn, slight, and Kukulhaele, severe; and 6th, Kohala Mill, 3 p. m., slight. At the local office of the U. 3. Weather Bureau in Honolulu clear to partly oloudy weather obtained, with .01 Inch of rainfall on the 9th, .71 below the weekly normal, and .01 lets thai) during the preceding week. The mean dally relative humidity ranged from 61, to 82, and the mean for the week was 67.0. Northeasterly winds prevailed on the first six days and southeasterly on the last day. The average hourly velocity was 7.7 miles. The mean dally barometer ranged from 30.02 to 29.86 inches, and the mtan for the week, 29.97 Inches, was normal.
