mill In Formosa.

the Honolulu Iron Works, which

dities clause of the Hepburn law.
Under this law a railroad is prohibit
ed from engaging in nay other lino
of business. It mny not, for in
stance, own ccnl mine and operate
them in conjunction with the trans
portation business. This clause has
been -hard fought by the railroads,
and the decision is of great import
ance, a3 transportation companies
must no wattend exclusively to the
transportation business.

Brown, who attempted to kidnap
Fremont Older, editor of the San
Francisco Bulletin. This was one of
the fiasco growinp ou f the graft
prosecution,, and Older's active par
