lie talked cheerfully of the future.
"I believe all Is said that should
be, and that the strikers have now
come to the right way ot thinking.
I have alwavB urged peaceful nego
tiations with the planters. From
what I know ot tho Anglo-Saxon
race, you cannot dictate to them. It
was not my Idea io strike, but It
they had a grievance about higher
wages, to go to the planters and

lieve they now see whore they were
wrong. 1 shall bo back at my desk
