AND DIGGING UNDER THE
PUBLIC HIGHWAYS, STREETS,
THOROUGHFARES, ALLEYS,
SIDEWALKS AND OTHER PUB
LIC PLACES IN THE CITY AND
COUNTY OF HONOLULU.

Section 3. It shall bo the. duty of
the City and County Knglncer, and

turbances for which a permit has
been granted, and before nny such
permit shall bo Issued by tho City
and County Clerk, tho nppllcant
Jhercfor shall pay to the City and
county Clerk to cover tho cost ot
such inspection nnd tho Issuance ot

nun: of fifty cents, All permit fees
collected by the City nnd County
Clcik under this Ordinnnco shall be
turned over to tho City nnd County

covered by auch permit, and keep
them burning from twilight to sun
rise, shall erect sultablo railings,

watchmen on tho work by day nnd
night, nnd shnll thko such other pre
cautions as may bo necessary and
proper for tho safety, and protection

Section 5. Whenever required by
tho city nnd County Engineer or
Itoad Supoi visor or Hond Overseer,

Section S. Any person or persons,
firm or corporation, who shnll vlo

n misdemeanor, and upon convlctlou
thereof shall bo punished by flno not
exceeding $250.00, and not less than
$5,00, or by Imprisonment not ex
ceeding three months, or both.
