other salaries, of donations nnmed herein, of payrolls and of accounts for
material and supplies, accompanied by qrlglnal vouchers and certified by tho
Clerk ns halng been duly paused nnd' allowed' by the Hoard of Supervisors
nt any regular meeting, or any special meeting, called for the purposo' of

AND HE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That to make expenditures under
this Resolution, It shall bo necessary that alt salary lists. Items of donations.
pa rolls, Items ot material and supplies and accounts of general expenses
shall, bcfoie being presented to tho Hoard ot Supervisors, be passed upon by
n Committee or Committees nnd by such be reported to the Hoard ot Super
visors with the recommendation of such Commlttco or C6mmlttecs, and
sutns found to be lawfully duo and payable may then be voted upon singly
or collectively as convenient on a call ot the ayes and noes. In the event
of any such Committee falling or neglecting to so pass upon any such mat
tcrs, or to make any recommendation In regard thereto, tho Hoard may
thereupon net. .,
AND HE IT FURTHER RESOLVED. That .no, payments under this Reso
lution be Incurred In any month In excess of tho 'monthly 'pro rata sums

on tho other Islands. Accompanying
him on his excursions over (his Isl
and, has bcon A. F.. Knudsen, ono of
our residents, who titfce a great Inter
est In the development of the Hydro-
graphic and Topographic Surveys on
Kauai, and who will probably have
charge 'of the actual operation on tho
Island after tho Engineers arrive,
sometime next month, Mr, Knudsen
also took tho W. O. Hall for Hono
lulu, on Tuesday.
To continue the report of their in
vestigations, after arriving at Llhuu,

last week's Issue, they went on to
