AN ORDINANCE REGULATING: THE CARRYING OF PASffltNOERS Fpk
EIRE IN LICENSED VEHICLES. PROVIDING THE RATES OF FARE
FOR THE CARRYING OF PASSENGERS IN SUCH '"VEHICLES AND
PROVIDING FOR PUNISHMENT FOR VIOLATIONS OF THE PRO
VISIONS OF THE ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY AHD COUNTY OF
Section 1. Every licenced carriage or vehicle, except as otb.rwU.
prorlded In this Ordinance used for the carrying of passenger (or biajtjpi
the City and County of Honolulu shall ho numbered, and inch number Mil
be placed In a conspicuous plncc on both sides of suah carriage or TShUle.
Such numbers shall be In figures not lets than one and one-Half (ltt) lncbaa

Bectlon C. It ehnll be unlawful for any licensed driver for hire, when
In chargo of a Hconscd carriage or vehicle, to be intoxicated, or t us In
sulting or abusive language, or to demand more than the authorised tar,
or to neglect, upon demand, to show a list of the duly authorised "llate of
ITaxe," or, not being ongagod, to refuse any fare. In oomputlag rate of
fare, fare may bo charged from the tlmo of leaving the stand to the time
of returning thereto.
