Thirty officers and 83 non-c'oms nnd
enlisted men went out to Camp Frcar
at Fort Shatter yesterduy afternoon
and for tho next seven days will be
under tho Instruction of officers of
tho regular establishment In military
science of different kinds, the whole
work being In chargo of Major W. P.
Uurnhuiii, 20th Infantry.
Of tho officers and men who nre
now at the camp, seven olflcers nnd
30 men come from other Islands, tho
remainder of the contingent being llo
nolulans. From tho other Islands the men
came In Saturday and all assembled
at the armory yesterday afternoon
preparatory to moving out to camp,
which was dona nbout C o'clock, street
cars being the means of transporta
tion. Today tho men begin their first real
work and at CMC this morning the
first tall went out over the Bleeping
camp. Fro.il that hour until late to
night every hour has something for
those at the camp and when It Is all
over olflcers and non-coms will have
many new Ideas of military life.

of Instruction, etc. 9 n. m.; Talk on
police nnd sanitation. 10 a. m.: Care
of rifle, estimating distances, etc. 2

(Including fifteen minutes' bayonet ex
ercise); extended-order drill and fir
ings; position, aiming and sighting
drills. P. M.; Talk on discipline, and
Instruction In saluting, reporting to
nnd addressing an, officer; practlcul
instruction in care of rifle and equip
ments; talk on sanitation, etc.
