not apply to food or foodstuffs kept or
exposed for sale In unbroken original
packages unless the surfaces of their
contents, when of tho descriptions
hereinbefore specltled, are exposed to
the outer air; nor to any articles of
food kept In covered or sealed con
tainers, whether to be sold In such con
tainers or not, providing snld articles
uro never exposed to tho outer air ex
cepting whllo being bundled In duo
courso of business; nor to nny food or
foodstuffs kept In refrigerators, meat
safes, or compartments protecting the
sumu from dust, and dirt, contact of
nnd contamination by Hies und other
insects and from promiscuous handling
and other contamination.
SUCTION B. No food or foodstuffs
hereinbefore mentioned shall be ex
posed for sale or displayed unless the
bottom of tho box or other refceptacle,
containing such article. Is raised at
least two (2) feet ubove level of the
lloor or sidewalk.
SUCTION C. No person afflicted
with nny Infectious or contagious dls-
easo shall engage, or bo employed, In
exposing for sale or selling uny of tho
food or foodstuffs hereinbefore men
tioned, when such engagement requires
or permits tho handling of the same.
SUCTION 7. The provisions of this
Ordinance shall npply to nil morkets,
market stalls, stores, stands, cafes, res
taurants, and other places, whether li
censed or unlicensed, at which food,
foodstuffs, confections or provisions for
human consumption aro kept for sale,
nnd to all licensed or unlicensed vehi
cles from which nny food, foodstuffs,
article of diet or confection Is Bold or
offend for salo.
SICCTION 8. It shall bo tho duty of
the City and County Physician, tlmfood
nnd sanitary Inspectors and tho police
officers of the City und County of Ho
liolulu to enforce the provisions of this
Ordinance, nnd for.uch purposo all of
the said otllctals and ofllcers shall, at
all reasonable hours, have access to any
market, market stall, stoie, Btand, cafe,
restaurant, or other place herein men-
tlont.il, for the purposo of Inspection,
SUCTION 8. Any person who shall
molest, hinder or In any manner pre
vent uny Inspector or other olllcer from
performing any duty Imposed upon
him by tho provisions of this Ordl
