Worth Deep Consideration. To the candidate who thinks that Honolulu ha been thoroughly canvassed for subscriptions, we wish to say that she will be surprised when the end comes to find how many subscriptions have been gathered during this final week. Yes, there will be surprises for all candidates, in fact, any number of candidates have said. "WATCH ME THIS WEEK." and have said it in a manner that implied they were going out to do something. Just what this really means will be determined this week. It is safe to say that no can didate can rest easy with the votes she has, as this week will change the position of many candidates. Remember the LAST CHANCE IS ALWAYS THE BEST chance of all. as under the last scale of otes they count fast. Read over the final scale of votes, which appears on this page, carefully. The scale upon which votes will be issued from this time on until the close is outlined there, and will not be changed. READ IT OVER CARE FULLY. BUT FOUR MORE DAYS REMAIN in the Bulletin's CRAND POPUI-ARITY CAMPAIGN. Next Saturday night the winners will be decided, although the final count will not take place until the following Wednesday night. However, all effort will end next Saturday night and the winners decided. BE ONE OF THEM. YESTERDAY WE ANNOUNCED THE FINAL VOTE-CREDIT ON SUBSCRIPTIONS. Under this scale as printed in this issue votes will be gicn on subscriptions during the remainder of the contest. This scale will POSITIVELY NOT BE CHANGED DURING THE REMAINING DAYS. . These count up big right now. and NOW IS WHbN YOU NEED VOTES. WITH THE FINISH SO CLOSE. This "Second Payment" ruling applies to any new subscription you may secure, and also on old subscriptions. Of course, you are allowed to mail votes and subscrip-1 tions up to 9 o'clock on tile night of the close, but it would be well to send in vour reserve-votes a dav or so ahead if possible. If mailed later than ' Thursday, they should bear a special delivery stamp. Candidates in the city should bring in their subscriptions as early as possible to avoid the rush of the last day, Man) Dark Ilorsci in the Lift. . . Looking over the standings of candidates as they appear in today's issue for the final week hardly gives an idea of the real strength of numbers of the young women whose names are not hovering close to the top in the various districts. Many and many a candidate sacrificed her entire reserve in order to be close to the top during the last days, while numbers of others, wiser than their yean, decided to keep back their ballots until the finish and ex pressed themselves as satisfied with less prominent positions, saying that their real friends, who are going to help them, knew their true strength and by appearing farther down the list would arouse less opposition and have clearer sailing toward their goal. These quiet workers are numbered among the $550 "Remington" Player-Pianos II HpfflHHH'l One To Be Given In Each District strongest candidates, and LOOK OUT FOR THEM WHEN THE END DRAWS NEAR. YOU CAN NEVER TELL FROM THE SOUND OF THE HORN HOW FAST THE CAR IS GOING. Ballot-Box Locked and Sealed. After Sunday's count the ballot-box was locked and scaled, ready for the depositing of the reserve-vote of the various candidates. This is done in order that no one will have any knowledge of the reserve-vote of the various candidates. The box will be opened by the judges a week from next Wed nesday night, when the final count will be held. The key of the ballot-box has been deposited in the safety-deposit vault of Bishop oc Co., there to re pose until taken from its resting-place by the judges for the final count, which will decide the winners. Important Instructions (or Candidates. Ecry subscription-ballot should be carefully looked over before sending in, to make certain that the name of the candidate is written thereon. Do not forget this, as it is most important. Outside candidates should make certain that their reserve-votes arc sent in a few days before the last day, in order to make certain that these reach us in plenty of time. Votes and subscriptions may also be mailed by outside candidates BY 9 o'clock next Saturday night, and these will be counted, but the postmark or postmaster's signature must show that these were deposited in the poslofficc BY 9 o'clock next Saturday night. It would be well for outside candidates to send in the reserve-votes they already have on hand as soon as possible. Every subscription, remittance or ballot mailed after Thursday should bear aSPECIAL DELIVERY STAMP to insure its reaching us in time. Address all mail to the CONTEST DEPARTMENT direct, to insure1 its being handled promptly. All remittances received after Tuesday will be1 acknowledged by mail, but the votes will be deposited in the ballot-box to ' the credit of the proper candidates. This is done in order that these votes may be here in time for the final count. No Deviation From Regular Rules. Now is an appropriate time to notify every candidate that there will be absolutely no deviation from the regular rules in handling subscriptions at the close. Every subscription must be written out on the stubs, if possible, furnished for that purpose, as has been done in the past, and must be ac companied by the full amount of the subscription. Names and addresses must be written plainly and absolutely correct, as far as possible, for the immense amount of Lusincss that w ill surely be done during the last days will make it impossible to handle these with dispatch unless this is done. By keeping these lacts in mind c andidatcs will be certain to make no errors and this department will not be obliged to refuse to handle any sub scriptions sent in. The final count will be in charge of a committee of well known local business men, whose standing in this community will assure every candidate a square deal. These men will have no other interest in the count than to canvass the vote carefully and methodically at the request of the Bulletin, and their count will absolutely determine the winners of the prizes, Lool( Over Your Standings Carefully. The standings which appear below include every coupon, every subscrip tion ballot and every vote cast, with the exception of those which have been returned, during the campaign up to Noon Sunday. These votes will not be counted again, as the final count will be of the reserve-votes of candidates, which will be deposited in the ballot-box during this week. If this count is not absolutely correct according to your fiRures. kindlv notify us at nnre. that proper checking up and correction may be 'made before the close of the contest. f DISTRICT NO. 1.
