Members present: Ellciuist, chair man Hanson, Jaeolison, Clark and Roberts, Clerk. A. L. Ellquist was elected chairman lor the ensuing' year. On motion duly made and carried the following business was transacted: Clerk's salary ilxed at $15 per month. Treasurer's salary $75.00 per year. J. N\ lCli.isen, after Qualifying as a director, was elected clerk. Mans Hanson was elected treasurer. Treasurer's bond llxed at $6,(K|(J|. 00. (irand Marais State Band designated us depnsitory for school funds. Mrs. Hannah Mattson's wages for janitor work increased from $12.00 to ier month by vote. Yeas—Clark, .Jaeolison, Hanson, Ell quist and Kliasen. Nay—Roberts. It was also furtlier decided to ad vertise for bids for the painting of the scliool building at Chicago Hay, Flute Reed Valley and Birch wood. Paint to be furnished to be of standard Quality. John Clark was appointed as a com mittee' to correspond with the Depart ment of the Interior regarding the proposition ol taking over the Indian school at (Irand Portage. It was also on motion decided that a special meeting be hold at Chicago Bay School House Aug. 18, 11)22, at 2:011 1'. M. to consider taking over Indian school .it (irand Portage. The members of the Board of County Commissioners of Cook -County, Minne sota, and the County Auditor of said County, met at the Court House in the Village of Grand Marais, at 10 A. M. this 17th day of July, 1922, for the pur pose of organizing the County Board of Equalization of said Cook County, Min nesota. The following members were present and took the oath of office. A. L». The meeting was called to order by the County Auditor and nominations for Chairman were called for. Com missioner Engelsen was nominated and unanimously elected Chairman. The Board proceeded with the exam ination of the several assessment books of the County but no changes were made. Upon motion duly made and carried the Board a-cl.iourned to July 21th 1922, at 10 A.
