They have found no remedy that gave as satisfac tory results for all throat and lung complaints as this great cough medi cine. Price 26 and 50c bottle. JC. A. Jack, Druggist. The Nevill family in England con tinues to startle people. The divcrqe of Lady Rose Leigh some time ago was widely talked of. She was found guilty of misconduct with the young Earl of Cottenham, and her husband secured the divorce. The young earl has now been forced into virtual exile. The fa ther of Lady Leigh is the Marquis of Abergavenny. His eldest son, the Earl of Lewes, is in a madhouse his fourth son is in prison for forgery, and his second daughter, Lady Alice, died a year ago under the most distressing cir cumstances. The other twin daughter, Lady Violet, obtained a divorce last year from Lord Cowley and was short ly afterward remarried. The obvious old fashioned moral that this family suggests takes the form of a question, How were they brought up? An organized effort is making by the public spirited women of Chicago to do away with the disgraceful signboard advertising which is so flagrant in that city This is a worthy mission of worn an The acreage of sensational, idiotio and vulgar paint hoisted up on every vacant lot is enormous and exasperat ing, but one does not really understand how any mere moral suasion will curb the rampant tendencies of the adver tiser Nothing but a good, stringent law will effect a cure He ought to get six months for defacing the vistas of that city, and if the women will secure the passage of such an ordinance they will merit the thanks of the whole lountrv Thousands of conservative readers will be glad to hear that Miss Rhoda Broughton has written a new novel called the "Game and the Candle." Probably no English novel of our time has been read by so many people with genuine delight as this author's "Good by, Sweetheart." It is the very best ex ample in romantio literature of Wom an's most charming work. It may lack the subtlety of "Jane Eyre," but it has a quality of sunshine and human interest that "Jane Eyre" lacked. A New Burlington Book. But Detroit has adopted one method which might be imitated else where with great benefit It has several very handsome avenues, and each one of these avenues has an association of property owners who look after the beauty and well being of the thorough fare There is thus a continual and gen erous rivalry between the localities of the city, and when the smoke nuisance arrived it fonnd these associations or ganized to combine against it Tetter, Eczema and skin diseases yield quickly to the marvelous healing qualities of Banner Salve made from a prescription of a skin specialist of world wide fame.
