Sec. 1. That section 3 of chapter 50 of the
Penal Code be. and Ihe same is hereby amended
ao as to read as tollows :
Sec. 3. Bail may be taken by distrirt and po
lice ju-tices belore committing i lie arciaed tor
trial, but after commit luietii no one but ibe jus
lice who lias beard the case, or a judge ol a curt
ol records, can le; a prisoner to bail. Provided,
however, lhal when such bail b col furnished, the
prisoner shall be committed lo prison.

of witnesses, and to enforce iheir orders and del-re
us are now customary or may hereafter be
grained to any of the courts of this kingdom.
Sec 8. I he word person V as used in thii
1 Act shall be held to mean not only individuals

appoint a Sheep lospeclor, in each of the
gubernatorial districts tit the Kingdom, upon
the application ol the majority ot the sheep
owner in such dtatricl. Tue term of service of
said luspecior shall be tao years, unless sooner
removed for cause by said Minister. He shad
receive no compeuaiiou tor the duties of such
office, from the government.
Sec 2. Is abail be Ihe duly of the Sheep
Inspector, upon Ihe written complain!, of any
person that auy sheep or d ick ol sheep is in
lecled wuh scab, or other lufeciiou or con
tagious disease, lo examiue such sheep or fl ck
in ihe presence of Ihe oauer or keeper thereof,
auu deleriuuie whether or out such complaint is
true. It II be found that any such disease
exisls in said sheep or flock of sheep, the In
spector shali thereupon iu writing notify the
owner or the same or his agent of the fact. For

amended by an act approved on ihe 26 b day of
May. 1866. is hereby amended by sinking out
the words ' thirty-five huudred," and inserting in
place thereof the words " four thousand." so thai
as amended said Section shall read as follows :
Sec 846. The tloief Justice of the Supreme
Court shall receive an unuoat salary of fi.e
thousand dollars, the first Associate Justice an
annual salary of four thousand dollars, and Ihe
second Associate Justice an annual salary of
four thousand dollars, which said salaries shall
he paid in monthly payuieuis, out of ihe treasury
of the kingdom.

lo ihe provisions of this Act are hereby re
