That Ardalinn has been recaptured, is re ported as false fron St. Petersburg. —The Russian batteries at Ostenitza will have to be removed, on account of high water resulting from rains and melt ing snows. —Fourteen Roumanian soldiers were captured in their own Territory, by a par ty of Turks who crossed the Danube and the bloody Turks cut oil'the calves of their legs. —Egyptian transports for the aid of Turkey, will be escorted from Alexandr ia by Turkish iron clads. —The Turkish Pasha who represented that he had under his disposal an army of 06,000, when he had but 30,000, has been dismissed and court-martialed. —Gladstone made a specch in Burning ham, in which he attacked the Turkish Government severely. —Kalafat is to be attacked in force by Osman Pasha. —The Russian official account of the Circassian Sght, only puts the loss at 83 out of 4,000 engaged. —The Euphrates Valley is evidently to come into the possession of the Russians as they are advancing in force towards Diarbeker. —The Turkish reports of the Danubian army are flattering to the Turks. —The Turkish commander, Sulimen Pasha has received large re-inforcements. —Krustag is expected to be the scene of a severe battle. —Grand Duke Nicholas told a foreiira consul that neither Prince Bismark nor Lord Derby will prevent him from enter ing Constantinople, as Germans entered Paris only to leave it again. —The banner of the Russian army bears the words, "En Touto Nikta" which in terpreted, means, "God, the Emperor, and the Fatherland. —At the last attack upon Kars by the Russians, the Turks lost the three outly ing entrenchments, with two guns and a large quantity of ammunition, and 100 killed. The Kirasians lost 36 killed it was a decisive advantages for the Rus sians. Peace rumors in London meet with but little credit. -The Inter Ocean reporter from Lon. don says that "the rank and file of both armies are revived by the belief that they are the defenders of the faith, and arc fighting in the interest of the Most High and it is believed that the result of thus arousing the religious frenzy of the people, will be to excite a bitter and re lentless warfare, in which humanity will be shocked by still more cruel deeds of blood." —Rumom UPC afloat in England that Russia is ready to sue for peace, being satisfied with the fall of Danube, and not desiring to cross the Danube as it would be attended with great loss of life, and that Russiaresources are not equal to the great task she has impared upon herself. —The foreign Roumaniau minister, a3ks for $100,000 credit, to give the Czar a re ception when he arrives at Bucharest. --Later reports clftim the Turks1 have recovered Ardalian, but not until after it was in ruins by the Russians. —The Russians are delayed in their movements by heavy rains that prevail along the Danube, and in Caucasus. —Stozer was attacked by 450 Montene grins and was destroyed. The Turkish loss was 148 killed. The Montenegrins lost 111 killed, and 10 wounded. —A Christian Doctor who deserted from Tribinje says, 2,400 men have died there sincc the campaign, and half at that post are sufiering from scurvy, and much dys entery. Three thousand men arc sick at Mostor. Troops are underfed, having no more than to barely sustain life, and are compelled to labor on earthworks contin ually. —A Russian paper says, if Russia is able to conclude peace after crossing the Danube, and at the same time realize her programme, and if the powers adopt an attitude sufficiently firm to complete the lesson received from the arms of Russia, then a dignified peace might be arranged and the necessity for further war avoided —The Danube continues high, and it ts thought that it will be impossible for an army to cross inside of four weeks.
