The most celebrated of all weapon
poisons is the "woorari," employed
by the savages of the Orinoco ba
sin in South America. It is an elab
orate product. Two species of ven
omous serpents contribute to it, and
a third ingredient is the juice of a
vine allied to the plant from which
strychnine is obtained. To the mix
ture is added a quantity of red ants
of a kind whose bite is particularly
