The board of trustees of the North Carolina Anti-Saloon League in- annual session in Raleigh last Thursday call ed on the General Assembly to make the North Carolina prohibition laws harmonize with the national enactments; and asked North Carolina Senators to resist any weakening of the Volstead Act. It also exhorted all officers from policeman to Governor to the strict en- rorcement of the law. Here goes the resolution drawn up by we league: "Resolved that the siroreme temner ance duty , in North Carolina , today is the enforcement of our existing laws, and we ask oiir temneranee lenders to make next year 'Law Enforcement Tear and subordinate all other temperance Is the renter a criminal? There are plenty of people who will tell you he is. They'll say he's a blight, a national menace, a land-looting lubber who is ruining the country. On the other hand, there are folk like William Johnson, whose searching article on tenantry is coming in an early issue of GEBJT He says it's time we were getting a cor rect view of this important question and then he carefully outlines that cor rect view. He shows how tenantry has become almost the only way to land owner ship in these days when land is high. He shows that the tenant, on the average, is a farmer of ability, who is enriching the farm he hopes some day to own, not a soil robber who sees no fur ther than immediate cash returns. You'll be in terested in this splendid story if not as a land lord or tenant then as a friend of good farming practices. And you'll be interested, too, in the many other articles on tenantry that will come to you in the next 52 weeks, along with sound guid ance on every other farm problem and entertain ment for the whole fam ily you send zne $1.00 today.
