From Raw Mat

When we receive an order for a mat
tress the hair is taken from its original
bag by a man who puts it through the
so-talied "teasing" machine. This ma
chine pulls the hair apart where it is
matted and at the same time through
a force blower removes all dust. The
hair comes out of the machine soft
and fluffy. "I Ins clean, fluffy hair is
then built into the ticking not by
machine but by hand. This insures
the mattresses against becoming lumpy
an insurance that is impossible with
a machine-made mattress.
