found the gold to be too light ln weight. They had
not the time to obtaln enough in addltlon to bring
the conslgnment up to the wetght called for by

week. The Merchanta' Bank of Canada took $100,
000 for tranafaar to Canada. Ztmmermann & For. hay
took $120,000 "for counter nse," making the amount
withdrawn by them from the Sub-Treasury for the
