M'KINLEY 120,000 MORE VOTES THAN IT CASTS FOR BBYAN. ODEL.L RUNS 20.000 BEHIND NATIONAL TICKET— GAIN OF SEVEN REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMEN-SUBSTANTIAL AD DITION TO MAJORITY IN LEGISLATURE. *Cew-Torlt; Ftat<», as in I*o6. proved to be an tfbject lessen f r the whole country in the great fc'urality which it rolled up for honest money fend for the Republican candidates for National fcnfl State offices. Estimates at a late hour last fclieht pave the State to M^Kin'ey and Ytnose- Jfelt by th*» remarkable plurality of upward of J2<\<W> ballots. This splendid showing is more than grntifyirsr to the managers of the Repub lican canvass, whose estimate, as given out by thainr.an Odell only a few days ago. was only jrn'tOitO plurality for the National ticket. New- Jerk State, moreover, wan the battleground fcliere Bryan waged a fierce fight, stumping the Etate from New-York City to Buffalo, In the hope of defeating the army of voters supporting fecKlntey. Both Mr Bryan and Mr. Croker. it* two chief figures; in the Democratic party lads year, gave out repeated statements also of Eetrlbn belie* In a Democratic victory In the Empire State. B. B. Odell, jr.. has been elected Governor b> ft large majority. He has run but .20.000 or 'KOTO vote, behind the National ticket, and it 'I, dearly evident that Mr. Odell's personal pop- Earity up the Etata has largely offset the votes ■of those Democrats who voted for McKlnley Bod Bound Money, bat who managed to swal low StanchSeld. Wben It comes to the next I>pglalPture the R* pobllcaaE have shown an apparent net gain of 14 members for the two houses. The Senate will probably stand: Republicans. 34; Democrats. 10. This is a* against 27 Republicans and 23 Democratic Senator. In the last Legislature. Th* Assembly figures show: Republicans, 100; Democrats. 50. This Is to be compared with •3 P.epub!icans and SI Democrats in the last Assembly. A gain is thus shown of 7 votes for the Republicans In both the Senate and As ■ciably, and a corresponding loss to the Demo cratic majority. A gain of seven Republican Congressmen in liie State is another magnificent result of the -ejection. The representation at Washington will -lie: Republicans, 23; Democrats, 11. In the last Congress the figures were only 16 Republicans P> 15 Democrats. WYOMING. l;f PT'BLICAN BY 3.««. The enlarged elty of N'ew-Tork gave Bryan a plurality over McKlnley. With several election districts mlßslng In ea^h Assembly district of M>nhattan and Th» Bronx this plurality was estimated late last night at 27.4rw. Brooklyn Borough stood 1-y McKinley, but his gains th<»re w^re about offset by Bryan's lead in Queens and Richmond. Manhattan and The Bronx gavn Bryan 25.23 ft plurality, with the exceptions al ready not<=d. It is difficult tn compare this result satisfac torily with the vote in the same territory in lhC*}. because the enlarged city was not incor porated th^n. However, by taking the figures for those parts of Queens County only which are now included In Queens Borough, an.l in cluding them with the 1806 returns of New- York, Richmond and Kings counties, it shows that the terrlrory now Included In New -York City gave McKinley in 1806 a plurality of about 56.000. To this plurality Kings lent 31,588, Rirhmnrvl 1,718. and New-York County 20,73.\ BROOKLYX FOR M'KINLEY. A COMFORTABLE PLURALITY IN KINGS COUNTY. Brooklyn apaln came to the fore, as in 1896, with a plurality for McKinley, although the figures were not so overwhelming as in that tidal wave year. However, the sum was nearly sufficient to offset the Bryan pluralities in the Boroughs of Richmond and Queens. With some election districts missing, the vote in Brooklyn was: McKinley. 07.951; Bryan. 94,450. McKln ley's plurality, 3,402. Odell probably carried Brooklyn, but by a small plurality. With fifty-two election districts missing, he had 94,793 to Stanchfield's 93.501. Odell'B plurality, 1,202. ILLINOIS. MKINLEY BY 100,000. Chicago. Nov. 6.— At l'» o'clock to night the returns were .coming in slowly, an', from the meagre reports received up tn this hour. Indications point to a Republican majority in Indiana. A heavy ballot was ca>=t in the State. Aside from thp clash in Clay County, where one man fell dead with twenty bullets in his body, the election has pas.-i->l off without inci dent. Coli nel W. T. Durbin. the Republican candi date for Governor, is running close to the Na tional ticket. Ten precincts in Marion County (Indianapolis) show a net gain of 251 fur McKinley over ISOB. The same ratio, if maintained, would give Mc- Kinley the county by 8,000. Democratic Congressmen have be^n elected In the lid and Hid districts, while Republican Con press candidates w^re successful in the Vlth. VHlth, Xth, Xl'h and XHlth districts. Harry C.
