[BY TELEGRAPH TO THE TBIBCNB.] Chicago, Nov. 7.— Adjournment of the hoard from the close of to-day's session until Wednesday morning wae In the minds of traders to-day, and they were indisposed 10 increase their Interests In the market until after the election. There was a general feeling of confidence In prices, notwithstand ing the smallness of the trade. Wheat closed %c higher for December and May. corn was about %c up, and hardly any quotable change In oats. Pro visions were from 22 ] 2 c to Ec higher at the close. Reasons for the strength that supervened were the same as before, except that every passing day brings nearer the time expected by those who have adopted the bull side when the estimated sore deficiency for the crop will be palpable beyond denial. The northwestern receipts were 28 cars, compared with 127 the year before. The heavi ness of the rectipts at the winter wheat mar kets subdued the bullishness that prevailed before they became known. Argentine weather was re ported very unfavorable. The range of December was from $1 13% to $1 V:\. closing at $1 12>- 4 to $1 12*4. May closed at $1 Il 3 i to $1 11"», after selling as high at $i li 1 - and as low as $1 11 Vi. Corn was acme and firm the first ten minutes or so of the *<". .'■rion, and after that was quiet, with the bull feeling considerably lubdued. The weather was still all that could be desired to make the new grain available for early shipment, and the number of can Inspected since Saturday niurnlng was a good deal larger than expected. The demand from the Bast was again In evidence for the corn In ■tore, and foreign bids for Dew corn for shipment i;i January were better. Local receipts were lit cars, Of pvbicb *> were contract, and shipments hence were 144.000 bushels. The estimate of to-morrow's local receipts mi US cars. The highest for D« c< niter was 4b T B c, the lowest -JS^c, and the close waa tfttc. aJfter Bellini as high as (Be and as low as 46V- Slay closed «t 4- 7 »c. Oats ruled steady. A firm undertone existed In sympathy with corn. There was some good buying early by ca.-h and elevator Interests Belling was by local traders and scattered. The sample mar ket was steady to %c lower. Receipts were 188 cars, of which 33 cars were contract, and of the s;ni." trade 17,000 hushcln were taken from un licensed elevators. - patents were 21-j,oou bushels; esiimates for to-morrow were I*o cars. Local stocky Increased tO.OOO bushels, making the total 5 254 000 bushels. December closed at 2* 7 »c. alter selling as high as »c. May sold from 21Vgc, to 31>4C to 31 He dosing at 31 Vie Provisions were quiet, but there was enough de mand for pork from commission houses to give the entire market a strong tone. Hop receipts were 31 000 head, and prices at the yards were steady. January pork sold from $12 50 to $12 074. and reacted to $12 65 May sold from $12 00 to $12 65. January lurd sold from $7 06 up to $7 10 to $7 Ufa and May sold from $7 20 to $7 22%. January ribs sold from $8 474 up to $5 f^i. tnd May suld from $6 <5% up to *«7l£ NEW- YORK DATLY TRIBUNE.
