The Murray Hill Hotel was sold by Jo
seph P. Day in partition proceedings to set
tle the affairs of the estate of Hugh Smith,
in which about a dozen heirs were lnterest

A regular meeting of Has " . est Side Tax
payers' Association will be held to-night

mittee, George H. Dresler, chairman, on
the proposed Seventh avenue Eubway and
on the extension of. Seventh avenue to
Canal street. The committee is opposed
to the project unless the corporation* 10 be

to stand their Just share of the expense,

Sum Paid for Sniffin Property 'a New
High Record Price.
All - records in high prices for White
Plains, property were broken yesterday by
the sale of the E. C. Sniffin corner, at Rail
read and Lexington avenues. This prop
erty, which was purchased by air. Sniflin
thirty-three years ago for $15,000, was sold
to New York buyers for $140,009. or at the
rate of $1,500 a front foot.
An adjoining tract of G2 feet, owned by
G. W. Thompson, a jeweller, was also sold.
The present t? nanii of the buildings will
not be disturbed.
