to a request from the Surgeon General
of the Army, has undertaken to train
American women for service as nurses'
aids in war hospitals in France. A great
number of women are needed for this
patriotic service, which involves the
actual care of sick and wounded fight?
Women ?35 to 45 years of age in robust health
and capable of self-sacrificing service should

consists of fifteen lessons in elementary hygiene
and home care of the sick, and one month's
practical hospital experience.
The American Red Cross wants volunteers, so
far as possible, for this service, but all women
who meet the qualifications may enroll. Those
who cannot afford to volunteer will have neces?
sary expenses paid by the Red Cross.
When mobilized equipment will be supplied
and transportation charges paid.
