I h ft v-ki *.* Story of the Eiker-Hoff Cure. But a short time ago the entire scien tific world, especially that portion of it devoted to medicine, was startled by the results reached by a physician of Vienna, Doctor Adolf Hoff, a man who had been trained in the best universities of Europe, hd who had the ripe experience that comes of a large practice and of associa tion with one of the largest and best equipped hospitals in the world. For years he had made a study of the respir atory organs of man, and particularly had sought to fathom the mysteries of con sumption that he might be able to afford relief to suffering humanity. The New York Journal heard of the wonderful cures effected by Professor Hoff and resolved to prove the matter for itself. That paper sent a consumptive abroad at its own expense to test this discovery and to prove to the world that consump tion is curable. The patient was selected from one hundred other cases at New York's famous hospital, the Vanderbilt Clinic. The presence of tubercule bacilli - was fully established by eminent bacteri ologists. Placed under treatment by Professor Hoff, the world-renowned lung specialist of Vienna, six guinea pigs were ' inoculated with this patient's sputum. AH of them developed tuberculosis and died. After three months' treatment the Jour jial patient returned . home completely cured. Upon his return the New^York Life In surance Company issued a policy on his Jife. Later he married ,and at this time the N ew York Journal, in an extended account of the ceremony, certified to his cure. rFull details of - the cure, together with the prescription, were published in the !New York Journal, and a history of the case was embodied in a paper read before the Tuberculosis Congress and the Medico-Legal Society of New York by Dr. Carleton Simon, the eminent lung special ist. Among the other distinguished phy sicians who have figured in this remark able case of cure, and which were named In Dr. Simon's paper, are: ' Drs. Daniel Cook, J. Mount Bleyer, Henry P. Loomis, B. F. Cline and Henry T. Brooks! of N ew York City and Dr. Sylvester Willard and 8ir Henry Broadbent of London. The Eiker-Hoff Cure is the outgrowth tf this remarkable case. What it has ac complished is shown in part in the accom panying unsolicited testimonials, and those that are handed out with the free trial bottles. A more extraordinary feature of the Hoff Cure remains to be told. It is, that in this marvelous discovery Professor Hoff builded more wisely than he then knew. It has been found that his cure, while directed primarily - against Con sumption, is just as efficacious and much more prompt in its action in cases of Asthma, Catarrh and Bronchitis. The Eiker-Hoff Cure has demonstrated that his prescription is a positive cure for these diseases, which are but the advance guard of Consumption, requiring but a few weeks at the most for their success ful eradication. It has cured radically great numbers of people afflicted with these maladies, besides those suffering from coughs, colds, and other disorders of the breathing organs of, the human body. In carrying out the humane work in .ugurated by Professor Hoff, the Eiker Drug company would invite attention to the extreme reasonableness of price, but one dollar ($1.00) per month, of the Eiker Hoff Cure. In a large number of cases a one-month treatment effects a complete eure. Never before was a positive cure offered to the public for so small a charge, which places it within the reach f all classes of people. However, the immediate purpose of this announcement is not to sell the Eiker Hoff Cure, but to persuade readers to call at the address given and procure sample . bottles in order to demonstrate for them selves the virtues of this remarkable remedy. ' From New York Journal. Hoff Cure From a Scientific Standpoint. Dr. Stoffella, the aged dean of the Vienna University Faculty of Medicine, the professor under whom Dr. Hoff studied, Bays: "To Hoff belongs the credit of getting us to U H internally acidum cinnamylicnm sus pended In his solution. Hitherto it has been used merely as an injection. Patients gain greatly in weight by the use of it. "Other medicines, such as creosote, ruin the stomach creosote makes patients lose appetite, produces nausea and causes them to vomit it may help the lungs, but at the expense of everything else. The so-called in- palatIon cure is-also a failure. I prescribe arsenic because it creates blood and kills fever." _ - "'.:- ' ' V^": V*' t . Dr. Stoffella is one of the foremost physicians In the world. He has been for many years the head of the med Icai faculty of the University of Vien na, Itself one of the greatest medical Institutions In the world.
