Negotiations have just been completed which round out the Teachers' club en tertainment Course for the winter, and it is the most brilliant ever offered in the history of the club More than half of the program will be musical events that will rank with the best in a season that promises much that is fine The course will open earlier than usual this year, the first date being Nov 4, when Walter Damrosch and David Bispham will give a Wagnerian lecture recital Both are the greatest possible favorites and It will be a ^matter of re gret alike to ther club, the artists and the public that {he auditorium of First Baptist church in which the recital is to be held is too small to admit all who will wish to attend Last year the club sold out almost the entire seating of the house on the course sale, and this year with a stronger course it is expected that the entire regular seating capacity will be sold before the first entertainment. All that will be left for the subsequent sales will be the extra seating by chairs and standing room, of which there is considerable Two other musical entertainments of much interest will follow quickly in No vemberthe Suzanna Adams Concert company, Nov 7, and Mrs Fanny Bloom field Zeisler Nov 18 A long interim will come then until after the holidays, when two lectures by Ernest Fenollosa, a lec ture by Edward Howard Griggs, and a recital by Schumann-Helnk will complete the course, the last date being March 22 In addition to his two lectures in the course, Mr Fenollosa will give at the same season a special course of five art lectures, more especially designed for art students and connoisseurs 25c 40c We have many good trades to offer In Clear Havanas and Domestic. Walton's Real Estate Office Suddenly Leaves tne City. t Mission, 29 An Examination of the Checks He Handled Shows Changes by Use of Acids. After a highly varigated career, A. H. Mummery has left the city and a careful checking of the acoounts he handled in the office of E O. Walton is now in prog ress Up to date it appears that checks to the amount of about $900 have been altered so that payments were diverted. Many of the checks in payment of the firm's accounts pased thru Mummery's hands It has now been discovered that in a large number of cases the name of the payee has been erased with acid and Mummery's name substituted His in dorsement on the back of the check indi cates that he drew the money. Thus, while the accounts of the company were perfectly straight and certain accounts appeared as paid, the money had been diverted. - Young Mummery had won his way to a position of trust, thru "employment cover ing more than a year Some time ago the books in the office were examined and his accounts pronounced in better shape -*- . ** -u.-,-. the checks The first checks on ' whici h alterations appear were drawn last Jan uary. It was seven years" ago that Mummery came out from England to seek his for tune in the new world. He came of a good family and brought letters to Mr. Walton which prompted that gentleman to introduce him at a garden party at his home on the day of the newcomer's ar rival With his correct London clothes and accent he created a distinct impres sion socially. Then he dropped from sight for a time and was next heard from as a circus attache. A brief engagement as a patent medicine agent followed, from which employment Minneapolis friends rescued him and secured him a place in the Manitoba club at Winnipeg Later he came to Minneapolis- as a servitor in the Minikahda club where his evident good breeding worked his promotion to a sub secretaryship It has since transpired that his handling of whatever financial matters that fell to his lot at the club was not wholly satisfactory. t brisk east shifting to soiuth winds WisconsinShowers to night and Saturday, rising temperature fresh southerly winds Upper Michigan Threatening with showers and warmer Saturday and in west portion to-night, fresh easterly shifting to southerly winds. B Y "TH E Bid TAILORS"KawitzermMr. Harry Mitchell, Manager lof Scotland Mills, Gets Bid of Howard & Walton. * Harry Mitchell, manager of the Scot land Woolen Mills Co, 3i0 Nicollet ave nue, purchased the entire stock of Hdw ard & Walton, St. Paul's finest merchant tailors. Howard & Walton are well known in St Paul and Duluth as makers of men's fine clothing. Their prices were $25 00 and upwards. Over-speculation forced them to bankruptcy, and their enormous stock of unexcelled woolens were sold through the court. Mr Mitchell, manager of "The Bi g Tail ors* " establishment in Minneapolis, who is conceded to be one of the shrewdest purchasers in the country, in his line, put in his bid, and it was accepted on account of being "spot cash " It was an excellent opportunity for the concern's branch store in this city, and Mr. Mitehell will show his appreciation by placing the enthe stock at their usual price, suit or overcoat made to order for $15,00, which is about half of the Howard & Walton price. The factory at 42 South Third street is kept persistently busy fifty tailors are em ployed here, and among them are artists, which facilitates the Scotland Woolen Mills Company in turning out suits and overcoats that are unexcelled in fit. There is one thing In particular about the store at 310 Nicollet avenue, and that is the conspicuous exterior and interior. Both are very artistically arranged and displayed with Scotch colors. A shrinkage in stocks is not s6 ex hilarating as a boom, but it has its own advantages For several years we have had articles on Success, stories of how some one made $50,000,000 in three months or how Mr Schwab earned ja million a year, and life has been readjusted as if every man Were making at least $60,600 a year. Nothing In the World but Nerva Inflam mation Brought on by Blood Impur- itiesA Simple Remedy for All. Neuralgia is nerve inflammation. It means that the nerves are being poisoned because of indigestion, constipation or sluggish action of liver and kidneys. It means that the waste material in tended to be expelled through the kidneys or bowels remains in the blood and that the nerve* are being poisoned by it. Iron-Ox Tablets cure neuralgia by re storing the kidneys and liver to normal action and by regulating the stomach and bowels. Their action is tonic laxative they tone up the various organs to a healthy condi tion, when blood impurities and nerye inflammation, are driven away.
